Glenarm Accommodation Prices:

Maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) - $550,000.00

Equivalent Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) - $60.47

Example of a Daily Accommodation Deposit (DAP)

Joe has had his income and asset assessment completed by Services Australia and has been advised that he can be asked to pay the following fees:

 -          Base Daily Care Fee of $52.25 per day

 -          Daily Accommodation Contribution (DAC) of $23.79 per day.

His assets have been assessed to be $100,000.00.

The DAC can be paid as a daily fee, as an equivalent RAD or a combination of a RAD and DAC.  Based on a DAC of $23.79 per day Glenarm can request the equivalent RAD, being $216,003.00.  Joe must be left with $50,500.00 of his assets after paying any RAD.  As he has $100,000.00 in assets he can pay a RAD of $49,500.00.

If Joe chooses to pay a RAD of $49,500.00 the DAP of $23.79 will reduce, calculated as follows:

(Maximum RAD Glenarm can charge less RAD paid)*Maximum permissible interest rate/365 days.

 ($216003.00-$49,500.00)*4.02%/365

The DAP reduces to $18.33 per day.

Note: 4.02% is the maximum permissible interest rate as at January 2021.
