Acute ward

The Acute ward is a 20 bed ward which includes two high dependency beds, an outpatient department staffed by our ward staff and 2 Transitional Care Beds.

Our team of dedicated nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, wound nurses, chemotherapy nurses and local GP’s always try to ensure that each person staying at Kerang District Health receives the highest quality care, and that their stay is as comfortable as possible. Patients are encouraged to engage and understand their treatment to partner in their own healthcare.

The Urgent Care Centre is staffed by nurses 24 hours a day with medical assistance from the local medical clinics, or through consultation with Bendigo Health Emergency Doctors, My Emergency Doctor Service via telehealth.

Kerang District Health has a variety of visiting surgeons.  Please visit our Theatre page under Hospital Services in the main menu.

Kerang District Health has two Transitional Care beds. This program is a goal focused program that can be used for people needing some extra assistance to get home after an illness or hospitalisation. It is a multidisciplinary program that uses the physiotherapy service, Occupational therapist, Nurses, GP, and any other care provider required, according to the needs of the individual.
